We are very excited to announce the 10th Anniversary Edition of Inspired Woman Magazine is coming out in August! It is hard to believe the magazine has been inspiring women for ten years.

Starting out as ‘inspire’, the Bismarck Mandan publication quickly developed a following and covered area events, hot topics, as well as featured local, inspiring women. Kim Jondahl, the first editor, filled the pages with wonderful stories from the February/March 2002 issue until July/August 2008.

I was fortunate to become editor in late summer of 2008. After visiting with several people, I decided to change the name to ‘Inspired Woman’. Even though the magazine focused on women, not enough people knew that fact, so I hope the name change has helped.

We have also added this website and of course, a facebook page. Be sure to become a fan, we give away fun things every week!

Wow – I can’t wait for everyone to read our ‘Who Inspires You’ stories. We received 17 entries and I want to publish each and every one. It was very difficult to pick winners, as each story was written from the heart.

The March/April issue will feature the top three choices. I am hoping to publish the rest of the stories throughout the year.

Look for the March/April issue Wednesday, March 9th.

We try to find houses that are just a little out of the ordinary, some may have some fun details, others may be totally ‘different’.

This home will be featured in the November/December issue of Inspired Woman. It is tucked into the countryside just outside of Wilton and was featured in the Parade of Homes a couple years ago. We look forward to showing it to you!

We finally put the next issue to print today. We have some great relationship stories to share and I really love the recipe page.

We are also introducing our “Who Inspires You” contest. This is all about finding some great stories to share. That is what Inspired Woman is all about – sharing stories that warm the heart. I hope you will be inspired.

Now, there is a small window of doing nothing (well, kind of) and waiting for the actual magazine to hit the streets. It is time to catch up.

Now, we start fresh on a new issue. It’s a little like retail. You work so far ahead, it is sometimes hard to enjoy the actual time/event when it arrives.

We do love to hear how you enjoy the Inspired Woman, though! It is such a pleasure to hear and read your comments. We appreciate each and every one.

I am especially excited about the gross and guilty mommy stories my friends contributed. You won’t believe what some mothers have had to endure! I’m glad none of my gross mommy memories include any of the “p” words.

Sorry you have to wait one more month…read the Fitness Issue one more time!

So, I admit the oversight and we are fixing it. Unfortunately, the magazine will not be ready for a couple more days, but it needs to be right.

Which brings up something else – there will always be something missed. A capital letter, punctuation mark…no matter how many times an article is proofed there will be some little thing that is overlooked. Why is that? It would be nice to have a proofer for the proofer!

But, something like spelling a person’s name wrong is unacceptable. So we’re fixing it. You’ll enjoy this issue – it’s all about Fitness. There are a lot of inspiring stories to hopefully jumpstart you into a new fitness plan for 2010.
